Macro Virus: Wordmacro/Wazzu

WordMacro/Wazzu consists of a single AutoOpen macro; this makes it language independent, ie. this macro virus is able to infect localized versions of Word as well as the English Word.

Unlike most other macro viruses, Wazzu has often been seen in the wild: there have been numerous reports of infections in the USA since the spring of 1996.

Wazzu modifies the contents of documents it infects, moving words around and inserting the text 'wazzu'. The word Wazzu is reported to be a nickname for the Washington State University. All platforms of Command AntiVirus™ with F-PROT Professional® address variants of the Wazzu virus.
